SEALING MATERIALS
A gasket is a mechanical seal that fills the space between two mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage of fluids and gases from or into the joined objects while under compression. Gaskets are commonly produced by cutting from sheet materials, such as gasket paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, or a plastic polymer (such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene).
Packing is good in heat resistance, chemical resistant, and can be used with almost any fluid other than strong oxidizing acids. It maintains excellent seal performance for long time and generally can be used for all types of pumps, mixers, etc.
Applying pipe sealant properly helps prevent fixing leaks later. It is available in roll form for both industrial and household use. It can effectively alleviate many of your piping headachesm while substantially reducing piping cost and maintenance.
